PINK MATTER (WOMEN AND SCIENCE)

 

 

THEME:      Women and Science 

A GAGA exhibition created specifically for St Philips College

 

INTERPRETATION/Thematic focus  Women and Science, their discoveries, contributions, and focus...

 

Possible interpretations through

Abstract: acrylics, oils , collage, photography

 

• Visual interpretations of women’s scientific discoveries

• Women in science whose discoveries were claimed by the men 

• All the pseudo-science that has been used to keep women from using their brains

• All the scientific discoveries & organizations started by women

 

METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION

• Each artist will be asked to interpret the theme using her own voice and style 

• material choice on a 24 x 24 x 2  deep cradled ampersand  panel

• panels will be d-ringed and wired

 

INSTALLATION

                  These panels can be clustered or hung independently

Projected 70 artists x 2’ sized work = 140 linear feet of art work w/o spacing

Spacing can be none or incremental up to 12” apart

Work can be stacked

Work can be vertical or linear

Work can be clustered or grouped into grid like units
