Maggie Morawietz
Maggie Morawietz moved to San Antonio several years ago from Germany. She has been a textile designer, fashion editor and journalist. During this time she produced contemporary thematic quilts that were labor intensive and beautiful. Her creative direction has since moved into contemporary jewelry design.
Multi-disciplinary Morawietz turns inner landscapes into visible and tangible pieces of art. A prize-winning fiber
artist, she began working with metals five years ago and now
combines these two disparate fields into exciting marriages of unrelated materials. Typical themes in her work include:
animal kingdom, geometry/ organics, hard/soft, Art Deco,
as well as stylized scenes in mostly monochromatic colors.
