Gloria Jean

Hill

Gloria received her BFA in art and Masters degree in education from the University of Oklahoma. She served as a secondary art teacher in Oklahoma developing a visual arts program for elementary and secondary art. She moved to San Antonio TX in 1988 where she taught art for 13 years, serving as Chair of the Fine Arts Department for 6 years. She taught a variety of media and techniques.  In 2002 she was selected for the position of Visual Art Director of North East ISD. She was honored with the award of Outstanding Art Educator/Supervisor by the Texas Art Education Association. In 2014 she retired to pursue her personal artistic interests.

Having taught in a wide range of media, she is now focusing on acrylic abstract painting, mixed media, and collage. Her inspiration stems from the beauty of the Texas hill country and Oklahoma landscape. By incorporating different materials and techniques she invites her audience to explore new ways of approaching abstract art that appeals to their senses. Her work has been shown locally and in Oklahoma.
