Although she’s been a water-colorist for years, Lesta Frank recently incorporated mixed media, and enjoys the the serendipity that comes with it.Much of her work is figurative with abstract layered enhance- ments often using collage with handmade papers.Classes and workshops are available in her studio, through the McNay Museum, The Botanical Gardens, and NEISD Community Education. She does commissioned pet portraits. 

 

Frank earned a BFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan and an MFA from Rochester Institute of Tech-nology. Her many recognitions include: Poster artist for MasterCard–The 10th anniversary of the Alamo Bowl, Posters published for the San Antonio Botanical Gardens and the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. She has also received an award from the Texas Watercolor Society Exhibition.

 

Frank is included in the book Contemporary Painters by Kracun and McFadden.
