Some people are lucky enough to spend much of their time with people they love and things they find beautiful. Then, if they create art, whether in music, visual art, theatre, photography or movement, they choose vulnerability, sharing what they see, sharing the things they find beautiful, touching, humorous, dear, or intense. These days I look closely at such things and declare them on canvas as clearly and vigorously as I can manage.

Because I am one of those lucky people, that is primarily what I paint: things close to me, vegetables and flowers from my garden, bushes and trees in my yard, things around my house that I see and use every day. Occasionally I try to capture impressions from the crazy quilt that is my subconscious in small abstract swatches. Welcome to my world.
