• Our goal is to help promote, educate and advance the diverse contributions of women artists in South Texas – all styles, mediums and sizes. In order to bring about their visibility, we prominently display them on our website with their own webpage and promote them through social media platforms and a subscription-based email marketing newsletter. 

 

• The website hosts a registry of all current members. Each artist is given a webpage containing their artwork, artist statement, contact information and links to their website (if they have one).

 

• Artist members are also given private access to pertinent shared information on the website about exhibits instructions, release forms, meeting minutes, artist calls and upcoming meetings.

 

• All artists are given the opportunity to exhibit through themed and/or all-member planned exhibitions.

 

• Through exhibitions, artists are given the opportunity to make connections to galleries, art consultants and art buyers.

 

• Artists meet on a regular basis to build community and share ideas with other women artists, learn about exhibiting and selling art, and gather information on upcoming GAGA exhibits along with other regional opportunities. Occasionally the group will host a guest speaker.

 

• As a member, artists receive a 10% discount at Jerry’s Artarama, Asel Art Supply and Herwecks Art Supply.

 

• All sales of artwork promoted through GAGA is handled by the artist, not the organization. Each artist is encouraged to donate a portion of her sales from any GAGA member show back to the organization.

 

• Dues are collected at the beginning for each year. Occasionally there are additional fees to help offset the cost of receptions and hanging.
