Phyllis is an oil painter specializing in realism, born near Boston, Massachusetts. In 2011 she began her pursuit of art, tutored by Hill Country artist, Jean Crow, established still life painter and colorist. Her interest in color began there. To focus on technical skill-building in 2012 she joined Edward Povey’s Austin Atelier. She studied art theory, classical techniques, museum archival materials. When Edward returned to England, Graydon Parish, an established Austin portrait artist and educator, agreed to take her on. Phyllis continues to build classical painting skills and color theory under Graydon’s direction. Phyllis continues studio work, private sales, website sales and commissions.
