Laurel Cyrene
Laurel Cyrene is a U.S. Army Veteran and the mother of five that has been creating Art for over forty years. Her love for Art first started when she watched her mother paint as well as going with her father as a photographer for the military. Originally from California she majored in Art Illustration but later graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. degree in Education. In 1989 she moved to the San Antonio area and taught Art in the public schools and private lessons and classes until retirement. Her art has been published in magazines and manuals. She has won numerous awards for Acrylic Paintings, drawings and jewelry making. She uses different media’s and enjoys depicting animals, landscapes and people. She lives in Medina County and is an active member of Lytle Friendship Art Club where her paintings have been awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons for many years. She has also competed in the Hondo County Fair where her artwork has repeatedly taken People's Choice, Best of Show, first, second and third place in Acrylic and Dry Media as well as jewelry making. She is a member of The San Antonio Art League where she has shown in the Member’s Gallery. Her Artwork is in the San Antonio Art Collective Gallery, Fine Art America site, Facebook and has been a member of Paintings I Love.
