Ligia

Bedenkop

Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English, Ligia Bedenkop is a Brazilian artist, who works in oil, pastels, charcoal and mixed media. Since migrating from South America in 1977, she has lived in seven states and earned two bachelor’s degrees. She studied life drawing and composition at the University of Alaska in Anchorage, art appreciation at the University of Oregon in Eugene and drawing and landscaping at The Southwest School of Art.

 

Bedenkop works as a clinical laboratory supervisor. When she is not in the laboratory, her creative investigation focuses on painting landscapes, animals and flowers, expressing nature’s colors. She has exhibited at Gallery Nord, Bright Shawl Gallery, The Art Institute of San Antonio and at High Wire Arts gallery. Her paintings are in private collections in San Antonio, Georgia, Alaska and Brazil.
