DESIDE ON THE OVERALL DESIGN CONFIGURATION FOR YOUR MOCK-UP

ON YOUR DAVINCI PANEL DRAW THE TWO LARGE SQUARES

THE SQUARES’ SIZES MAY BE TWO AT 6 X 6, two at 7 x 7, or two at 8 X 8. OR ANY COMBINATION OF THE TWO.

Meaning: YOU MAY CONFIGURE THESE TWO SQUARES IN ANY FORMAT ON THE PANEL: HORIZONTAL, VERTICAL, DIAGONAL, RIGHT OR LEFT, TOP OR BOTTOM

AND

MEANING YOUR PANEL MAY INCLUDE ONE OF THE Larger Squares paired with a 6 x 6 square (like my example) OR you may decide on two same size squares.

One square is for your quilt design pattern and must be the same size as the pattern you just designed.

The second square is for the presentation design of your work to be— your normal work contribution. The direction you are going to take on the reverse side of the finished canvas cloth.

Example:  For my second square I painted a low horizon cloud plus beach. Evocative of the type of work I am recognized for.

PLEASE REFER TO THE EXAMPLES BELOW

THERE ARE SEVEN MOCK UP EXAMPLES AND AFTERWARDS MORE

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP FIVE

TAPE A PIECE OF THE SARAL TRANSFER PAPER TO YOUR GRAPH PAPER DESIGN

MAKE SURE THE CHALKY SIDE OF THE TRANSFER PAPER IS SHOWING OUT (THE DARKER SIDE)

PLACE THE GRAPH PAPER RIGHT SIDE UP(so you can see your design)

MAKE SURE DESIGN FITS ON YOUR SQUARE OR JUST INSIDE THE DRAWN SQUARE ON THE SURFACE OF THE 16 x 16 PANEL

TAKE YOUR RULER AND TRACE OVER YOUR QUILT DESIGN TO TRANSFER THE IMAGE ONTO THE PANEL.

STEP SIX: VERY IMPORTANT

AFTER YOU HAVE TRANSFERRED YOUR GEO QUILT PATTERN YOU WILL NEED QUILT PIECES.

HINT! BE SURE TO LEAVE SOME EMPTY SPACES

IN YOUR QUILT DESIGN- SPACES THAT ALLOW FOR THE PANEL TO ACTUALLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE DESIGN PATTERN. SEE ABOVE COLOR EXAMPLES IF YOUARE CONFUSED> THE ONES WITH WHITE ARE STRONGER

ALLOW FOR THE DESIGN TO COME ACROSS AS A STAR,ETC.

TO GET OR MAKE THESE PIECES TRY THIS REALLY EASY APPROACH

ONE YOU MAY CUT UP AN OLD PAINTING, DRAWING, WATERCOLOR, ACRYLIC, OR OIL.  ONLY CAVEAT IS THE PRELIMINARY WORK YOU PROPOSE TO REPRESENT “YOUR WORK” FOR SQUARE B MUST BE DONE IN SIMILAR COLORS SO THERE IS UNITY BETWEEN THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE CANVAS PIECE YOU WILL EVENTUALLY MAKE.

OR TWO TO MAKE THINGS EVEN EASIER

WHEN YOU BEGIN WORKING THE SQUARE FOR YOUR WORK’S PRELIMINARY DESIGN—USE THE CHEAP CANVAS AS YOUR PALLETE. THE CHEAP CANVAS WILL HAVE THE SAME COLORS THAT YOU ARE USING AND CAN BE CUT UP TO PROVIDE MATERIAL FOR AFFIXING ONTO YOUR QEO QUILT SQUARE.

USE MATTE MEDIUM OR ELMERS TO GLUE THESE CANVAS PIECES INTO THE GEO PATERN

SAVE SOME PIECES TO INCLUDE ON YOUR BOARD AS THE COLOR SWATCHES

(SEE EXAMPLE:

THIS BELOW ON LEFT EXAMPLE SHOWS TWO CANVAS CLOTHS IN THE HANGING SYSTEM.

UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT PHOTOGRAPH A PICTURE OF THE REVERSE SIDE WHICH IS ALSO VISIBLE TO THE AUDIENCE.

PLAN IS:   WHEN ALL THE CANVAS PIECES ARE COLLECTED AND HUNG THEY WILL BE RANDOMLY PLACED SO THE QUILT PATTERNS AND ART WORK ARE MIXED UP.

MEANING: EACH PRESENTED FAÇADE WILL INCLUDE BOTH EXAMPLES.
